Stowe Scavenger Search Entry Form

Beginning March 18, 2021!

Completed submissions are entered into a weekly drawing for a Walton Blodgett print. The unique 5″x 8″ letterpress print depicts the Village of Stowe, featuring the Community Church, printed on 100% cotton rag paper using archival ink by Hale Press in Stowe. The technique is the same as that used by Benjamin Franklin.

Walton Blodgett (1908-1963) was an American watercolor painter, illustrator and teacher. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, the family relocated to Stowe where he established his studio. He studied at the Grand Central Art School in 1927 and privately with George Luks and with George Pearse Ennis in Eastport, Maine. He was a WPA artist in Key West, Florida and taught at Hunter College in New York City.

He was active as a member and exhibitor in the American Watercolor Society. His paintings are widely collected and sell in the thousands of dollars. The Green Mountain Inn in Stowe has a vast collection on display.
