Stowe Foliage Artisan Market will take place on Park Street in Stowe Village. The Street will close to vehicle traffic from 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. All vendors must have your own 10x10 tent (preferably white, but we will make exceptions for this special weekend market) and be responsible for set up and break down. Set up is permitted only between 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and break down is permitted only between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting. There will be live music by Cooie DeFrancesco, a communal seating area on the Village Green to enjoy all the great food & drink, our 3rd annual amateur apple pie baking contest, and wonderful shopping from our artisan vendors.
All applications and art will be reviewed by a member of Stowe Vibrancy before being accepted. Art on Park is hosted by Stowe Vibrancy, Inc. with the mission to increase the vibrancy of the Town of Stowe through the enhancement of social, recreational, cultural, economic and physical characteristics of the Village. Art on Park celebrates and highlights the unique and diverse culture of the Stowe Area, from crafts to fine arts and locally produced artisan products, for locals and tourists alike. Parking & Restrooms
Vendors are expected to unload and then move their vehicle to off-street parking, allowing for market patrons to use the spots along Main Street. All vehicles should enter Park Street from Main Street, and exit from Pond Street after they have unloaded—keeping a one-way traffic flow. The same applies for reloading at the end of the market. Do not park in any of the private lots in the area, ie. behind IC Scoops, Union Bank when open, or any private residences. Public restrooms are located at Stowe Visitor Center and on the Depot Street side of the Stowe Mercantile shops.
Firearms & Drugs
Sales of Firearms or Drug (or Drug Paraphernalia) will not be permitted in any instance.
Vendors
All Art on Park markets are an opportunity for local Craftsman, Artists and Artisans to showcase their hard work. We encourage each Vendor to maintain high quality and safety standards. Each Vendor must complete an application. Applications are available online at www.stowevibrancy.com or by contacting Aimee Green, Executive Director and Market Manager, Stowe Vibrancy, 802.503.5771 or aimee@stowevibrancy.com.
Products
All Vendors must sell products produced, created, designed or processed themselves. Buy/sell items, items made from kits, and commercially manufactured products are not allowed. We will accept applications for locally sourced and/or made pre-packaged food or beverage items on a case-by-case basis.
Sales Tax & Insurance
Each Vendor is responsible for sales tax and state and federal business licenses and insurance if necessary.
Space Information- Set up and Break down
Stowe Foliage Art on Park will open to the public at 11:30 a.m. and will continue until 3:30 p.m. Vendors may begin setting up at 10:00 a.m., when Park Street closes, not before. Set-up must be complete by 11:30 a.m. Vendors who have not arrived and checked in by 10:30 a.m. could forfeit your space. (Exceptions may be allowed on a case-by-case basis with proper notification, call Aimee @ 802.503.5771). Space assignments will be determined by the Market Manager and will be provided to the vendors by email prior to the market date. Vendors are responsible for breaking down your stalls and picking up after yourselves. Vendors are responsible for providing tables, chairs, a 10x10 canopy/tent (preferably in white, but other colors will be accepted for this special weekend market), etc. Vendors are responsible for your property and any loss, damages or theft to your property. All tables, chairs, tents, etc. must be secured by weights and positioned out of the way of the event foot traffic throughout the course of the Market. Refunds will NOT be given, in any instance, due to weather conditions. This event has a rain date of Sunday, September 23, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the Market Manager will make the decision should it be necessary. (At this time electricity is only available to a select few vendors and it MUST be pre-arranged by contacting Aimee Green at aimee@stowevibrancy.com).
Staffing
Vendor stalls must be staffed at all times by the artist, business owner or an employee of the business.
Disputes
Art on Park is a community effort. If vendor-to-vendor or vendor-to-customer disputes cannot be resolved, the Market Manager may be called in to mediate. In this case, the Market Manager’s decision will be final. Grievances may be submitted in writing to the Market Manager at the postal address or email address below.
Violations
Art on Park was created to enhance the Stowe Community. Any misconduct will not be permitted at the Market. Discrimination, illegal behavior or failure to abide by these Guidelines will not be tolerated. A verbal warning will be issued first, followed by expulsion from the Market. Expulsion from the entire season of Art on Park will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In the case of expulsion, fees will not be refunded. Stowe Vibrancy, Inc. reserves the ability to amend these Guidelines as it sees fit to maintain the safety and success of Art on Park and its Market guests.
Participation
Full-time vendors are expected to attend 7 of the 10 weeks of the Market. The fee for missed weeks will not be refunded. Full-time vendors who are unable to attend a week must give proper notification to the Market Manager, so that
space can be filled. Contact Aimee Green @ aimee@stowevibrancy.com. Those who do not wish to commit to the full-time schedule can be placed on the sub-list and will be notified if a space should open up. Full-time cost is $200 for the season, and pre-payment in full will secure your spot. Weekly/sub cost for artisan vendors is $25/week.
