December 2-3 & 10, 2011

This year’s A Traditional Christmas in Stowe, produced by Stowe Vibrancy, Inc., has begun. The Lantern Parade and Cookie Baking Contest were both a huge success! Santa will arrive in Stowe Village on December 10th. There is a full day of activities planned for that day as well, including the Alpine Christmas Market. o 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  Alpine Christmas Market at the Akeley Memorial Building Town Hall Theater & Plaza. 20 various vendors. Jewelry, clothing, specialty food items, German cuisine, photographers, knit and woven goods, homeopathic creams and more!

11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Ladies' Barbershop Quartet

1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Free Face Painting

2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Green Mountain Choraleers

o 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.  Free Open Skating & Rentals at the Jackson Arena

o 11:00 a.m. Candy Cane Making Demonstrations at Laughing Moon Chocolates (reservations required - free to watch - $6 to make)

o 11:30 a.m. -  Noon   Arrival of Santa by Hay Wagon from the David Gale Recreation Center to Stowe Mercantile

o Noon - 3:00 p.m.

Free Hay Rides Throughout the Village. Pick-up and drop-off at the David Gale Recreation Center, HDAC and back entrance of Stowe Mercantile.

Welcome to Winter at the David Gale Recreation Center. Make a kids holiday craft event. Enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies.

o 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.   Traditional Holiday Open House at Laughing Moon Chocolates (free hot chocolate)

o 6:15 p.m.  Stowe HS Girls Hockey at the Jackson Arena (Admission charge) 

o All Day: Winter warmers, sales, beverages & Carolers throughout the Village

o Visit Stowe and take home Christmas tree sales at Paine’s Tree Farm with all-inclusive specials at Stowe Area Association member Inns
