About Stowe Vibrancy, Inc.

Stowe Vibrancy, Inc. is a volunteer-based community Vermont non-profit corporation with the mission:

To increase the vibrancy of the Town of Stowe through the enhancement of social, recreational, cultural, economic and physical characteristics of the Village.

 

It hosts 6 major events each year, and also fosters the community support and vitality of Stowe’s historic village.

Formed in October, 2009, Stowe Vibrancy is an important economic development private-public partnership for the Town of Stowe.

In 2009 Stowe Vibrancy undertook numerous activities, some of which included:

  • Planning and assisting in implementing a village streetscape improvement program
  • Managing a block party during the Antique Car Show, attended by approximately 1500 people
  • Co-producing the "Old Fashioned 4th of July" and "Stowe Summer Arts Festival"
  • Managing a block party during the "British Invasion", attended by approximately 2500 people
  • Fostering the development of the Memorial Park Study and Master Plan Development
  • Completing the review of the Village Vibrancy Study, culminating with a final report to the Selectboard, and the formation of Stowe Vibrancy, Inc.

In 2010 Stowe Vibrancy continued its work to enhance the village of Stowe by:

  • Producing 6 major events (described elsewhere on this website
  • Implementing a community-based fundraising effort to support its activities
  • Continued to foster streetscape improvements including flowers and gardens, lamp post banners, trash and recycling receptacles, and to encourage private property owners and businesses to enhance the appearance of their properties
  • Worked with the Town of Stowe to enhance the Town’s properties including a utility line relocation concept
  • Continue to work with Town in implementing the Memorial Park Redevelopment Plan

In 2011 Stowe Vibrancy plans to:

  • Producing 6 major events (described elsewhere on this website
  • Apply for and receive 501c3 status as an IRS approved non-profit corporation
  • Assist the Town in receiving Vermont Downtown designation
  • Implementing a community-based fundraising effort to support its activities
  • Continued to foster streetscape improvements including flowers and gardens, lamp post banners, trash and recycling receptacles, and to encourage private property owners and businesses to enhance the appearance of their properties
  • Worked with the Town of Stowe to enhance the Town’s properties including a utility line relocation concept
